Congressman Doug LaMalfa to Appear Tues 11/25/25

Dinner ticket sales are going very quickly for the upcoming November 25, 2025 general membership meeting of Chico Evening Republican Women, featuring Congressman Doug LaMalfa. Rep LaMalfa is affected by the recent success of Proposition 50, and we are anxious to hear how he is doing and offer our assistance to him in his 2026 reelection campaign.

Doug LaMalfa is a fourth-generation rice farmer and business owner who has lived in Northern California all his life. Doug attended local schools and grew up learning the value of hard work and community service. Doug earned his degree in Ag/Business from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo.

Doug is a strong voice for the North State’s agriculture and resources-based economy and for the first district’s farms and businesses.

Doug was elected to the California State Assembly and State Senate before being elected to the U.S. House of Representatives in 2012. In 2025, Congressman LaMalfa was unanimously elected as Chairman of the Congressional Western Caucus, the second largest membership organization in Congress and is focused on addressing rural issues.

In Congress, LaMalfa has been a strong advocate for limited, constitutionally grounded government, fiscal restraint, and lower taxes. He has worked to protect families from overregulation, ensure American farmers and ranchers can continue to feed the world, and has focused recovery from natural disasters.

Congressman LaMalfa’s district in Northern California has been hit with numerous catastrophic fires that have killed over 100 people in recent years. He has written and passed legislation to help citizens recover, including eliminating federal taxes on fire recovery settlements, and changing forest policy to reduce wildfire risks.

Doug LaMalfa’s firm beliefs are that government should do no harm, and that limited government means government should do only what people cannot do for themselves, in the most efficient manner possible.
